Myrtle cottage and the thatched cottage are believed to have been built in the 16th century. Myrtle cottage was a thatched pub called the Rose and Crown and it is said to be haunted. There have been rumours that a smuggler's tunnel extends to the coast. They have recently been renovated and are at the heart of the sympathetically designed new development.
